In Singapore, you get technology fairs every 3 months. This usually coincides with school holidays. This year, the PC Show happens at Suntec City from June 11th 2009 to Jun 14th 2009. The Multiclickz team is not going to provide just another “Best Deals in PC Shows “ or “Best Products to watch out for in PC Show 2009 “. Instead we will be presenting 10 things you probably didn’t notice among the offers and deals and gadgets on offer.

10 Sony is missing from the 3rd Level

sony_is_missing_this_year

Sony used to occupy level 3 of Suntec in major IT fairs like this. This year, they are missing from Level 3. They do still have their fair share of presence on Level 4 and Level 6.

9 Huge Sales Quotas are the order of the day.

Judging by the miles of piles of inventory at the booths on all levels of the show, the sales teams have their work cut out for them to move all the gear by close of show.  Will they pull it off?  Stop by on Sunday evening, and if they fail, you get a great deal!

8 Not everything is related to IT

We saw OTO, Carrefour, Philips Securities, and Credit Cards Companies. What do all of  these have to do with the  “PC Show 2009 – The International Showcase of Computer Hardware and Software “??

7 Things are not necessarily cheaper (Sony T900)

The Sony T900 is retailing @ $679 in the Sony Booth with 2 x 8 GB cards free, 1 additional battery, 1 mini tripod, and 1 Carrying Case and screen protector. The MS Color shop  is selling it for $599 outside.

6 Tired? Take a break @ Starhub

The sofa seats are there as part of the marketing campaign to promote their DemandTV services. Uncle is probably taking a break from all the walking and browsing.

5 Singtel Super 3-in-1 Coffee

Singtel has a relatively big booth situated on Level 6. They have over 60 counters serving their customers for all the services under their brand. (Mobile, Broadband, Mio TV). But did you know that some booth visitors are there for another reason? Come and experience the Singtel Super Coffee 3-in-1.

4 What economic crisis?

before-the-show crowded_lifts

The Multiclickz team reached the show site at 11.30am and we were amazed at the number of people waiting to rush in at noon. This is definitely Uniquely Singapore! Super kiasu.! Must go in first!

31 You actually get lunch deliveries!

lunch

Macdonalds and Pizza Hut now have their competitors. All of the Sales teams will not have the time to have a long lunch. The catering service that gets this lunch delivery deal will probably be the last one laughing and counting the $$$$s at the end of the show.

21 Maths problem of the Day:

escalator_crowd

# of people per minute stepping out off the escalators:

We did a count of the number of people who visit the IT Show. On average, 84 people step out of the escalator every minute. There are 4 escalators going up from the lobby, that will result in 336 people per minute visiting the show. The PC show opens from 12pm to 9pm. Do the rest of the calculation yourself.

11 Parking Rates Increase?

carpark-charges

Numerous posters like this one can be seen at car park lifts around Suntec. This one is specifically taken outside Millennia Walk. Have they increased the parking charges to celebrate the PC Show 2009?
