Top 10 things you can do while queuing for 4D

Got buy got hope! This is an avid 4D punter’s reply when asked why they bet on 4D? This “Hope” comes at the minimum cost of $1. One Singapore dollar could potentially win you up to $3000. Isn’t it attractive?

This could be one of the reasons why we often see long queues at the Singapore pools outlets. Being an occasional 4D punter, I often have to brave the long queues to place my bet on my lucky number.

Time spent queuing has allowed me to observe things people do.

One of the most common things that I see folks in the queue do is to compose their winning number on the betting slip.

Upon their arrival at the betting booths, these potential winners waste no time in joining the queue and starts to transfer their potential winner numbers from their little notebooks onto their lucky betting slips!

Oh did I mention that these potential winners are always equipped betting slips and pens, you never know when that winning number will “appear”.

9 Advance Queuing!
My first encounter with 4D queuing happened when I was a couple of days after my 18th birthday. You do know that the legal age is 18 and above don’t you?

To ensure the smooth sailing of my first “betting experience”, I seek my dad for advice. He is a 4D veteran with over 30 years of “betting experience” and soon enough I was bestowed with knowledge of placing a bet.

With my mind set on the winning number, I joined the queue. Having to reassure myself that I’m already 18 and would not be pulled up by the vendor for being underage, I noticed that there was this teenager in the queue! There was no way that teenager is over 18, I mean, he was in his school uniform.

I got to understand that it is not that the rules have been relaxed but the teenager was helping his mother to queue up first! Oh how silly of me, what better way to “cut” the queue by making full use of your loved ones to do advance queuing!

A couple more trips to the betting booths and you will start to realize that advance queuing happens all the time. Talk about being efficient.

This will be followed by the usage of a pointed object usually in the form of keys or pinkies, to clear the ear duct.

It is usually ended with an occasional nose pick.

31 Days of our lives
The sight of uncles and aunties shouting into their mobile phones can also be observed in the 4D queues. Often we are unwillingly invited to their ever interesting gossips and happenings of their daily lives.

Most of the time, these conversations are of those who require confirmation on the number to bet.

“Harlow, 3456 five big five small. Correct hor? want ibet anot?”
