After witnessing the devastating aftermath of Sichuan earthquake, I am surprised the Chinese government is still allowing such construction companies to exist.
China construction industry is booming exponentially in recent years, with new construction companies springing up as fast as high rises and new office buildings do. Many are hoping on the wagon and earning big bucks from the ever rising property prices – irregardless whether they have the correct certifications to build proper buildings!
The lack of proper government control when issuing building licenses, coupled with loads of unscrupulous construction companies maximizing profit by using shoddy construction methods and sub-standard materials, result in numerous construction related accidents and deaths in china last year.
Imagine you are sleeping in your brand new condominium one night, and the whole building decides to lie down and sleep on its side too….
