Malaysia has announced that it would NOT be participating in the Asian Youth Games 2009, hosted here in Singapore.
The official reason was to prevent the import of the H1N1 Virus, via returning athletics. As of now, only the Malaysian Olympic council has such concerns.
Interestingly, the announcement came after the Malaysian Football team lost all preliminary rounds and went home.
The Asian Youth Games (AYG) torch relay kicked off from Games Village at 7am this morning. A total of 135 torch bearers would be participating in this relay.
