Where can I park?
The official website recommends parking at the Jurong Camp which is “next “ to Pasir Laba camp. Don’t be fooled by the word “NEXT”, it takes you probably 25mins to walk to the open house! The Discovery Centre Carpark will be a much better choice because it is located between Jurong camp and Pasir Laba camp. The parking is free and the security guard is very friendly too.
2nd hand Cars
What has 2nd hand cars got to do with the Army Open house? We still couldn’t figure it out, if you know the answer, please tell us!
Kids can come too!
Operational Ready NSMen can bring their kids along and show them what you have been through. If they are not interested, you can always leave them at the Fun World, they have enough games to keep the kids occupied.
Mementos
Get one of these cute mementos back as souvenirs!
Organised Tour Groups
We saw a lot of tour groups, mostly students and some private community bodies. We hope they are here voluntarily. You know what I mean.
Umbrella Ferrying Service
It rained for about an hour and a half when we were there, the organizing committee has that part planned as contingency and we see friendly army boys bring umbrellas around to ferry visitors from one place to another. We wonder how that will work with the weekend crowd.
E Mart
They have an emart! They have an emart! But I am already a ROD personnel, so I can’t buy with my SAF Credits anymore. Sighz
Creating Jobs
You see a solider in every corner of the camp standing at ease. Approach any of them and they will be more willing to help you with your queries.
Are you Hungry?
You don’t have to be limited to cookhouse or combat rations during this 5 days event. We found MacDonald’s and Starbucks! On top of that, the following food and beverages outlets are also available during the open house
